Come meet Shifting Gears' Wild Woman of the Year, Kat Schaumberg, and Nepalese nonprofit, Atoot, co-founder Mashreed Aryal for an evening of storytelling and global connection at Stones Throw Brewery on October 21st, from 5-7pm.

Kat, a mountain guide and WWU alum, has led expeditions from the glaciers of Mt. Baker to the base of Mount Everest. She’ll share the powerful, full-circle story of meeting Monika, a young Indian woman during a 2019 Girls on Ice expedition, and their unexpected reunion in Nepal six years later. That reconnection led Kat to volunteer with Atoot, a Nepal-based nonprofit empowering girls in rural communities through sports, education, and life-skill workshops.

Following Kat’s talk, Mashreed will share more about Atoot’s mission and how you can get involved.
